[Description]
Union Workshop brings you the unique Story of Forest Rail! The route is based on the original Furusato Ginga Line in Hokkadio, Japan with the landscape and route placement the same as that route but with changed station names and a new fictional town to allow the telling of the story of the route through the scenarios.

This beautiful route, adorned with custom-built Japanese objects, includes 15 stations and has one main line and one branch line, with a total length of around 135km.

Two very distinctive rail vehicles are included to drive, the Kiha 750 and the other is a surprise!

The route employs Japanese signalling and there are all-new 3D passenger figures to see on the platforms!

Five Standard, five Career and four Free Roam scenarios make up this unique route.

Important: Please note that The Story of Forest Rail is compatible with Train Simulator 2015. If you purchased Train Simulator after 20th September 2012 then you will require the European Loco & Asset Pack (available to purchase via Steam) for the route to display correctly.

Detailed Description

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The original line was opened on September 22, 1910, connecting Ikeda and Rikubetsu. At that time it was called the Sekihoku line and was operated by Japanese government railways, latterly Japanese National railways. In 1987 Japanese National Railways was privatised and JR Hokkaido took over management of the line. Two years late JR Hokkaido closed the line, but then a new company was established by private investors and local government which took over management of the line and renamed it the Furusato Ginga Line. 17 years later, however, the company ceased operations and closed the line on April 21, 2006.
